De Pijp is where her evenings begin, a short ride from the hotels of the old centre. Blair is twenty-seven, brunette, and speaks Romanian and English in the same plain, unhurried tone. Guests tend to ask her for nuru or for body to body, and a visitor who tried one of them on an earlier trip can simply name the other in his next message. She would rather hear a length and a start time than a long description, and a question at the door gets an answer in one sentence.

Blair decides which bookings she takes and may decline any of them; she sets the limits for what a session includes, says what they are, and may end a visit at any point, as the terms set out.
