Writing to Return Visit Amsterdam
Everything here is done in writing, the first booking and every one after it. A written thread keeps the date, the room and the length where both sides can read them back, which saves a returning guest from relying on anyone's memory.
People who have booked before often assume the house remembers their room, their usual length and the name they asked for. Nobody is meant to carry that in their head, and the earlier thread may no longer exist. A return message that states its own facts is answered faster than one that points back to a conversation from last spring.
These five things make a return message easy to answer:
- The district and the building, with the room number once you have it, even if it is the place you always use.
- The day and the start time, reckoned on Amsterdam time.
- How much time you want, from sixty minutes up to a full night.
- A name from the roster, or a line about the kind of evening you want.
- When you last booked, by month and year, if you did.
The reply comes back in the same thread with the figure, the arrival window and, where one applies, the deposit. Until that reply arrives, you owe the house nothing and have filled in nothing. No form, no account, no card number entered on a web page.
A different phone since last time
If you have changed number since the last trip, the house cannot join the two threads by itself. Say so in the first line, with the month of the earlier booking, and the reply will tell you whether it can be matched to the old conversation. Where it cannot, the booking is handled the way a first one is, with half the fee ahead.
What the thread is for, and what it is not
It answers about therapists, formats, dates, lengths and payment. It cannot tell you what a particular hotel allows, cannot change your room, and will not contact anyone on your behalf. The questions page may answer yours before you write, and the booking page lays out the sequence from first message to knock.
