Cancellation and refunds, set by the notice you give
What is kept when a booking is called off depends on the notice given and on whether a deposit was paid, and it never extends to a claim for damages.
Cancelling never leaves a guest owing damages. What may be kept is the share of the fee already earned when the message lands.
With a deposit
- More than twenty-four hours before the start: the whole deposit is returned.
- Inside the final twenty-four hours, before she has left: half the deposit is kept and half repaid.
- After she has set out: all of the deposit is kept.
If the released time is booked by someone else, the deposit comes back in full. If the guest shows the house lost less than it kept, only that smaller amount is kept.
Without a deposit
On a door booking, calling it off before she sets out costs nothing. After she has set out, it costs the part of the fee her journey represents, and nothing past that.
Moves, force majeure and sessions ended early
One move is free under the rescheduling rule. Genuine force majeure turns a deposit into credit. A session ended early by either side stays payable for the time reserved. The cancellation policy works through each case in euro.
